I'm not going to give you the "medical" terms simply put if your ovulating it means your body is ready to concieve a child you have to be ovulating to concieve it means your eggs are ready to be fertilized so to speak and don't feel stupid everyone has questions

Ovulation occurs when a mature egg is released from the ovary, pushed down the fallopian tube, and is available to be fertilized. The lining of the uterus has thickened to prepare for a fertilized egg. If no conception occurs, the uterine lining as well as blood will be shed. The shedding of an unfertilized egg and the uterine wall is the time of menstruation.
basicly ovulation is the realse of the mature egg in a womens cycle

Ovulation is when one of your pair of ovaries is stimulated hormonally to release an egg every month. If the egg becomes fertilized then it implants into the uterine wall and becomes a baby...if it doesn't become fertilized then it is passed out of the vagina and your period follows soon after.
