It's what the British call a line of people...like you're in a bus queue...it's a line of peeps waiting for the bus...

When you call a company and you get one of those automated recordings that says all their attendants are busy, you're put into a "queue" so that when your turn in line comes, they will answer your call.

It mean a line, as in a line of people waiting-like say in the store or at a amusement park waiting in line to get on a ride etc----------also like backed up traffic long line of cars.

It also refers to the long braid of hair that Chines men used to wear.
