GW bush is the epitome of what our enemies think americans are.....and we voted that hick right in (allegedly). most people graduate fromm high school.....i n what, the 20th ranked school system in the world? the media dazzles us with american idol and who wants to meet a millionare, while the governemtn and private corporations stealmillions from honest hard working citizens (look in every paper of every city). but can we really be expected to make decisions when one of the biggest debates (abortion) mostly stems from bedroom irrseponsibility. also the "overweight problem". if we cant watch who and how we sleep with or watch what we eat, how can we even think about talking about starting a war? i dont know, maybe im just cynical but when my neighbors are more interested in a car wreck than the train wreck that is social security, i start to worry. but then, im sure im alone, arent i?

I agree to a point, but the alternative is unthinkable. We have problems, but our problems are nothing compared to other countries. We aren't the only fat kids on the block. All the problems that you are cynical about are products of the left. You think someone with a southern accent is a hick, so you are part of the problem. You should fit right in.

We don't govern ourselves, we use elected officials and isn't that working great lately. I agree with you, our priorities are out of order. We argue over minimum wage while we pay pro athletes millions of dollars to "play" whatever. I understand they are the best and it's a hard life, so is coal mining and being a firefighter. We have a severe case of, if it doesn't affect me, I don't care in America. We worry more about abortion, than who is going to do what about our open borders and all the illegals flooding into our country, not to mention any terrorists who care to visit. I don't think it will be much longer, five years, till America is really on the verge of collapse again, like the Great Depression kind of collapse. Too many good jobs are leaving America only to be replaced with service type jobs with low wages, while the rich get richer. We have so many big problems it's hard to know which is the most important to take care of first. Good luck to us all.

The problem is that the government abused their power and Americans haven't been governing themselves for over a hundred years.
Lincoln was the first American tyrant by issuing the first executive order.
Since then we've lived in a tyranny. Don't look now, but "We the People" established the Constitution for the united States of America as the supreme law of the land, but the government (who are supposed to be our public servants) have taken over and overturned the will of the American people rather than administering the law We the People handed them to administer.
The problem isn't the American people, the problem is government run amok.

what, that ppl don't know how to govern themselves? of course they don't. we can even decide on whether gay unions should be lawful or not. see, the thing that really sucks about living in a free country is that you are forced to live with ppl that have the worst ideas of how the world should work. a perfect country is a country where eveyone agrees with each other. that is not america and it will never be america. and because the gov't is supposedly for the ppl, they can't decide things amongst themselves either. it's a mess we can never fix. if only communism worked. i suggest lots of activities to get your mind off of america's many problems.

Well, to be accurate, US voters don't elect the president, we're a republic, a democratic republic-actually an electorate college casts the votes and elects the president. Now in other elections, we directly elect our reps to the house and senate, so we can be totally blamed for electing idiots there. But again, even in presidential elections, only 70% of eligible people register to vote and only 50-60% of those people bother to vote. So only 35% of the population is voting in our reps, and in off years, it's even less people, probably 20%, who bother to vote. So the people who are elected aren't really elected by many Americans...
My solution: require all Americans to vote, like they do in Australia, so we all share the blame for the idiots we elect.

Well, to be fair, should anyone be allowed to rule themselves?
As to the overweight issue, it isn't the government's duty to make people eat less. Get real. We MUST be personally responsible, and get off our duffs to exercise properly, eat properly, and live properly. If I'm too lazy to get off of my fat butt and exercise, why should YOU spend tax money for ME to lose weight? I don't want your goodwill telling me how to live. I don't need it and quite honestly, (with no disrespect intended) I refuse it.

I do see your point, but if the laws were enforced to begin with, even our lying politicians would toe the line, let alone the immoral idiots of our country.

Quietly move away from the left wing media.....take an Ambien CR and sleep off whatever you have ingested. If you can't understand that the foibles we possess are because of the liberties we have then by all means move to North Korea.
