He is one of the best players of all time and one of the best strikers in the world! he gets critiszed in europe and even in mexico! its not like mexico has a better player! and the only one like ronaldo at the moment in europe to me is thierry!!!!

I agree with you that he once was good, but he wasn't dominate like you are saying. If you take all of those other superstars off The Brazilian Nation Team & just leave Ronaldo, he would be a average player. In the last 3-4 years he has caught heat because he has gained a considerable amount of weight (15lbs) and doesn't seem to have the passion for soccer anymore..

I agree that he is one of the greatest players of all time, but criticism of active players are based on current performance (or at least the past year to present). The fact is that he is not as good as he used to be, and he is presently not as effecient as many other players. Thierry himself has not had a good year, or even Ronaldhino for that matter. But you also must understand the frustrations of Real Madrid. They had a jugernaut of stars and have failed to win trophies since his arrival. With some greats gone (Figo and Zidane) and Beckham leaving, they need somewhere to place blame. Ronaldo's slowing form was a suitable target.

right now he is the best player in the world . He gets criticized cuz the people who criticize him are either English ( because he got them to loose twice in euro 2004 and WC 2006) and people who support other teams and are just angry that Cristiano is kicking their butts. oh and men hate him cuz all the girls think he is hot but secretly they all wish they could be him or even have his looks.
But I have to admit the boy grew a reputation for diving and being incredibly selfish with the ball in the past years but now he has matured now but people can't seem to 4get especially when they want to dish him just because he got their team to loose.
EDIT : oops sorry my bad i thought u were talking about Cristiano Ronaldo.
