Or does 'social status' or 'self worth' keep them from acheiving?

I believe it depends on the person. They are in the state that they are in because A) they were greedy B) wanted to show up things they could not afford C) drug addiction D) Bad luck. If it's the latter three then all the money in the world would not help because they would go back to where they are. I think homeless people can really get back into the real world, find a job, do something with themselves. I don't believe they have less opportunities than anybody else. If you believe you can achieve is my mentality..Hope what i said makes sense. Good luck

Some homeless people would be helped to restructure their lives entirely. Some homeless people (the ones for whom homelessness is a CHOICE) would blow it all in 6 months and then be back on the street.
Good luck

Sure, that would really appeal to my sense of humour! Hell I've been homeless before and that was one of my fantasies, one about getting money anyway. Now that I'm about to win the New Jersey lottery maybe I'll do that, there's this guy living under the bridge out on 95 I always feel kinda sorry for when we drive by, I'll give it to him!

There is a documentary movie where a movie producer did exactly that, with exactly $100K and the guy lived well for a few months, got married, made a bunch of enemies and envious folks and then went back to zero.

Afterward he said he enjoyed it but wished it never happened.

I would certainly hope so if I do give away the money.
