Ha ha. I'm very shy when I'm with a guy and I very soft-spoken. i'm very loud and noisy at home. I just find it amusing that they think I'm shy.

Do you explain the difference to the men? I noticed a lot of women like being prima donnas around men - when in fact they're the opposite! oh well! enjoy! lol.

I believe it is ok to be soft spoken and a little subdued when with a man. Men have a tendency to respect women a little more when they are not so loud and obnoxious.
I mean c'mon... Do you really want to be known in your circle as the loud mouth?
