If you want to ride the monorail up front, ask a cast member - they'll take you to a special waiting area. Not only do you get on and off first, plus an awesome view (I'd recommend the trip from the TTC to Epcot), but the kids get special "Conductor" badges.

Blakes'... monorail suggestion is excellent! I always do that for friends or family traveling with us to WDW for the first time. You will receive a special Monorail Co-Pilot card that the kids will just love. And sitting up front is pretty cool! You can ask the driver anything about the attraction!
Another good tip is to ask your front desk (if you are staying on Disney property) for a wake-up call. Mickey or Goofy will ring you up in the morning so be sure your 12 year old answers the phone! Have a wonderful vacation!

well I dont know about any secret places, but I can help with the attractions!
Girls usually love epcot because there are tons of shopping opportunities (I got a beautiful clutch in the Italy area) there aren't as many rides there though.
Boys usually prefer MGM studios MGM has the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, a horror ride where you get taken into "The Twilight Zone" then get bounced up and down tons of stories really fast. That looks like a giant hotel. Another cool thing is the rocken Roller Coaster. This is an inside upside down coaster. It's so cool because the lights are out but there are like flashing Neon signs and Areosmith is playing. This is a large building with a huge guitar in front of it.

Hmmm...well i know that if you have a 12-year-old and they like animals you need to get to animal kingdom very early,if they don't like animals don't go...epcot is one of the best,Magic Kingdom is more for younger kids and i don't know about mgm.If they like gaming go to Disney Quest in Downtown Disney.

It is impossible to describe Paradise in a few words. Why don't you visit Disney's web page, look for maps and descriptions, write down the best picks to plan your visit?
