"Pay It Forward" -- You want to believe in the concept, which is uplifting and worthwhile, but all the cheesy characterizations and mediocre acting kill the premise. By the end of that film, I wanted someone to pay me back for the time I'd wasted.

"Phone Booth" -- When you hear the concept (sniper targets a random phone booth customer to do his bidding), your mind starts generating all sorts of intriguing possibilities (can the victim convince someone to help, how can the sniper stay hidden, what kind of things could the sniper demand, etc.). But actually seeing it onscreen with Colin Farrell as a jerk held hostage just doesn't deliver on the premise. You don't care about him, and nothing interesting really happens. The single best element of the movie is Keifer Sutherland's cool delivery as the voice of the manipulative sniper. This was a premise in search of a story. Someone should have put a bullet into it early on.

The book Eragon was made into a movie. The book was great and I thought would be great moving to the screen, but they changed to story so much from the book that the movie was terrible.

The Gate. It's an old horror film from the 80's about Hells Gate. Great idea but the movie was terrible.

The recent All the King's Men- It had an all-star cast, a great true story to start with, and a sizable budget- and then it sucked, and everybody promptly forgot about it.
