To be sincere I rarely see the sunrise. I get out of the bed like 7:00 am. I love to watch sunsets in my terrace. This is the best moment to be "connected" with the planet.
The best sunrise that I remember are the ones in a tranquil anchorage on my father's sailboat.

Both are Majestic. I traveled for 15 years, and in different geographical areas I saw in the AM....the mist rise from the marsh, and the sun beaming through the tall pine trees. Mountains came to life from the dark shadows with colors I have never imagined.
In the PM... The clouds of pink that are a Sailors delight...painted the sky. The golden reflections off the horizons and once in awhile, you can see the silhouette of a deer, or other animals streaming across the hillside.
Most people may favor the Dusk, because of their schedule, and Dawn for the same reason.

It's too extraordinarily sentimental, I'm afraid. In the summer, I can feel that sense of extreme sanctity and happiness in either a sunset or a sunrise. Kayaking into the day is amazing, and sitting on the dock strumming a guitar is an amazing way to leave it.

Dawn
At the break of day the land comes alive. Shadows race and dance across the earth to mimic the luster of the cloud riven sky. A burst of light exploding into the sky to shadow the land in a myrid of shapes and images that slither and slide from one into another.
Sunset
The weary day slides down to a close in puffs of multi-colored
light to bid a reluctant adieu in a celestial burst of fire upon the horizon.

To me, there is serenity. A peaceful setting so to speak, it's not day, but its not night either. And sometimes, when the sun peeks out of the clouds, there's a nice glow that shines down.

I do both when I can. It is magnificent to see what God will paint each and every day.
