I got my so called period on March 4. I told my mom and yelled that I finally got my period. Mom gave me a pad. Then everything seemed cool.I got a few cramps like I was supposed to and all regular stuff. But then, I noticed that the stuff was not red. IT WAS YELLOW WITH A BIT OF GREEN!!! Man, I was shocked. And Mom said that it is supposed to be like that the first time and that my period will only last 1 week the most. It sounded reasonable so I agreed. Well guess what ladies? Ithas been over 2 weeks and I still have it. My friend's period only lasted 2 days. My other friend's period lasted 2 weeks. I think I have an unusual "period" if it is really that. FWI: I had sumthing like a piece of cotton that got into my "down there" while I was changing my clothes or sumthing. My mom tried to get it out and she thinks that I might have an infection! She thinksTHE YELLOW STUFF is dead cells! Eww! So I was not sure so please help me! I do not want to go to the doctors, heck no!

Yellow and ESP. GREEN discharge is a definate sign of a vaginal infection.... NOT your period at all YOU NEED TO GO TO THE DOCTOR ... if not you will get very sick... and this will not get better... THIS IS MORE THAN LIKELY because your mother tired to get whatever she thought was down there out and instead of helping HURT YOU!!!! .. MAKE HER TAKE YOU TO THE DOCTOR and TELL HIM YOU HAVE NEVER HAD SEX... GOOD LUCK! ---PSS ADDITONAL--- the cramps you had... the discharge.. and possibly little amount of blood are all more signs/symptoms of a bacterial vaginal infection... all you will probably need to take care of this is an antibiotic pill you will take orally.... IF LEFT AND NOT TREATED will spread.. will get worse.. will cause more cramping and pain.. and probably PID (pelvic imflammatory disease) which is not only very painful but can cause permanent long term reproductive issues... MAKE HER TAKE YOU TO THE DOCTOR... sorry to yell.. you will be fine.. if you go to the doctor.. he/she wont embarrass you or hurt you esp. when you tell the doc your age and that you are NOT sexually active.. and what happened with trying to get the cotton out.. THE doctor will understand and you will be all better very very quickly

i just got my first period at the beginning of this year. it was normal and red, sometimes brown. I only have it for 1 day normally, and very light, not heavy AT ALL. I hate talking about that sort of stuff around my mom, so i can't ask her to buy tampons or anything (even though i need them badly 4 dance) My period has NEVER been green or yellow! and your 2 week thing is normal, my friend has hers for 3 and she only has ONE ovary. I would NEVER talk to my doctor about it since i am very sensitive in that way. BUT,BUT,BUT:
YOU NEED TO GO TO THE DOCTOR! you could get really sick. I KNOW how much you don't want to go, but would you rather see him and ask him if it is okay, or have some sort of diesease, and explain to him/her WHY you did not tell him/her. Please go! for your own good!
GOOD LUCK! (Really.)

I can't believe your mother said that it being yellow/green was normal. It's NOT!!!!!!!! You are going to have to go to the doctor to get an antibiotic. You will just have to suck it up, girly! It's not fun, but wouldn't you rather have it cured, then for it to get worse, and run your life. NO!

Also, just a side note, I noticed when I was on my period and I used pads, some brands had a different reaction to the blood, where it turned a brownish black color. Trust me, I thought I was dying, but it was just some type of weird reaction. It was red on paper! :)

GO TO THE DOCTOR! AND make sure your doctor tells your mom that yellow/green is not a normal period.

A period is a natural thing, but I don't think what you are having is a period. Go to an OBGYN, get your pap smear done and explain to the doctor that you are not getting a red or brown period, but a yellow and green period. Its probably nothing serious, but I'd go to the doctor soon.

It might just be spotting not an actual period. you'll be very irregular right now since you just started.
you said it was over a week, any time it is over 7 days long you should make an appointment with your doctor to make sure everything is ok

but the yellow and green is not normal, you might have a yeast infection. you have to go to the doctors.

the only "normal" colours are red and brown

like all ppl say: go to the doctor & have them check it out. i had a weird thing downstairs so i went in & its really no big deal (im 16). that stuff could be some type of fluid in your body thats being flushed out that way. im not sure though. you may want to get on the pill afterward if you have very irregular long lasting periods bcuz the pill will regulate it & you will have less cramping. good luck!

You need to go to the doctor, NOW! That is not normal. Discharge should be clear or white. Not green or yellow. Your period discharge must be red, pink, or a maroon colour; the colour of blood. Go to the doctor, now!

Go to a doctor immediately. You have an infection of some sort. Yellow discharge is NOT normal.

you definitely have an infection of some sort. an ovarian infection or just a yeast infection. either way. see a doctor. my sister had an infection and had to see a gynecologist. it wasn't that bad. so dont be afraid...but it sounds very serious and you had better go get it looked at.

You don't want to go to see the Doctor but you might have. The sooner the better you have a big infection.
