My uncle was a fisherman,and I would often be out on his boat on the North Sea.I have sucked fisherman friends lozenges.They keep out the cold,and most fishermen do suck them.

Not for a sore throat, would only suck on that if a healthy vindaloo didn't unblock my nose first!!!!! I'd stick to the trusted lockets/strepsils/soothers, or for a nasty irritation get some dequadin from the chemist.
