I am going to say that isnt the best ultrasound I have seen as an RN. If I were you I would wait for the next one. They have a good rate of being right, but those boys do like to hide their "turtles" in the shell!! I would take it to ovusoft.com and post it on there, I am a member there and love the input all the women give each other, you may be surprised and get in contact with a US tech that would be able to give you another opinion or even an OB/GYN. Take care, and good luck!

It looks to me that it is a boy. I was told my first was boy but she was a girl. I can see the feet above where it says boy on the ultrasound and what I see below that looks like a penis. If it was a girl you would see 3 very white lines like (III) in the genital area and I didn't see those so I would say it is afe to say it is a boy. It could be the cord though...how far along are you and are you going to have another ultrasound.

You might want to post this over on babycenter.com's boards. They have an ultrasound boards with a few women on it who either are or used to be ultrasound techs. You could get much more accurate answers that way. Looks like a boy to me, but I'm no professional...but I DID see that episode of A Baby Story you're talking about. Good luck!

They are usually 80% correct when they do an ultrasound. If they are not quite sure the technician, (if they are a good one) will tell you that they can't determine at that time. How far along are you? The best time to tell is at 21 weeks.

I would say a boy. Usually when they say it's a boy, it's pretty accurate. It's when they say it's a girl that you kinda have to worry, because a boy can always hide it. But they are usually very accurate.

I think that could be the umbilical cord..but if you doctors told you it was a boy, I'm sure it is. You would think they would say that they weren't sure, if they weren't sure...but if you are really dying to know, try this www.infantsee4d.com
