I absolutely as a man will never make the mistake of not telling my family that I love them. My Dad wasn't one of those people who said "I love you" or "good job, I'm proud of you."
I never want to be like that, life is way too short.

During dinner, if we were playing around instead of eating, my dad would set a timer and we'd have to eat everything on our plate before the timer went off or we couldn't play outside. Therefore... I never make my kids eat everything on their plate, when they tell me they are full, they are free to go play!!
I also apologize to my kids when I am wrong - something my mom didn't do
I also make sure my kids know I love them no matter what

I'd like my children to have self confidence without them becoming spoiled brats. I'm serious. I have worked with about 9 families as a nanny and I have seen some seriously spoiled children who's parents pave the way for them to act like brats. I want my children to be confident and happy but I want them to know that nothing comes free and they have to work for what they want.

The main focus is: to let my girls know there are no limitations in life - be who you want to be - go as far as you can and also remember the importance of family.

Love them, believe in them, support them. Works wonders! The smaller details can be worked out - they've done so many things right and only a few I would change.

First & Foremost I would teach them RESPECT, to RESPECT their elders, respect themselves and respet everything and everyone.

I would teach them to do unto others what thay want done unto themselves....

I would teach them the value of life and the wise decision making that they will face everyday of their lives.... I would teach them the morals of life and to love one another as god loves us....

I think all in all, we can only teach our children so much, after a certain age period they become rebellious regardless. and they will only learn as they experiance, but guidence, help and reassurance is what I will be there for.... to help them, to guide them and to reassure them... that I as a paent will always love them....

I make sure they go to school like my parents made me! Otherwise the rest I do much differently. I don't spank or use a belt like my parents did!
