Definitely the NCAA tournament. I don't see millions of people gathered around their tv's and filling out brackets when it comes down to the NBA playoffs. There's the whole appeal of some no-name mid-major from the middle of nowhere knocking off one of the top programs in the country. It's something to actually get excited about.

Also people actually want to watch a game, instead of a bunch of guys playing run and gun ball because 90% of the teams in the NBA refuse to play defense. The NBA has lost the appeal that it had in the Jordan and Magic days. At least back then you had a better shot at seeing a decent game then a game-ending brawl.

So it's definitely all about the NCAA these days.

I think the NCAA tournament is more exciting than the NBA playoffs because so many more people care about college sports than the pros. I mean alumni that go to a college and dont know anything about basketball still root for their teams to be national champs. Then there is also the fact that the NCAA tourney is so unpredictable. It gives 64 teams a shot to win the national title. The tournament is also single elimination so that adds to the drama.

The tournament, year in and year out. Half of the NBA makes the playoffs, which makes the regular season almost meaningless. The best couple of series in the NBA playoffs are always good, but there are always a couple of really dumb ones that take the thing down a notch--for example, any playoff game involving Denver is automatically worthless.

NCAA basketball is overrated. The NBA is so much better, we're talking about professionals here. There may not be as many upsets but that's because the NBA has the best of 7 to really show who the better team is.

Definitely the tournament. The NBA playoffs are just too long.

The Tourny is the greatest thing in sports. If c. football adapted a playoff, then that would be. But until then, one and done tops best of 7 any day.
