It's about a guy who's wife died in a car accident and he says that he has to be good so he can go to Heaven and see her again

Pearl Jam covered the song here are the words but it was originally done in the 60's but I can't remember who did it.

It was remade by Nirvana, not Pearl Jam. Nirvana remade a couple other songs, but none about car accidents.
