I look back and see all the Yahoo! Answers questions asking what they would be like on '06, if they'd be any good, and just about everyone said they would do terrible and not make the play-offs. No one ever thought they'd make the play-offs. But me, coming from Michigan, had faith in the Tigers. They pulled it out. Anyways, what do you think the Tigers will do this year as far as their record?

I think their record will be something along the lines of 105-57. With Sheffield on their team now, that adds a lot of offensive power they needed. I mean the Tiger's have just about zero speed outside of Guillen, but with Guillen getting on base, and then Mags and Shef up there, the Tiger's should do phenomenal. Plus, the pitching is also great and should be able to hold on to games better and better every game. Sure, the Tigers lost Jamie Walker, who was actually pretty under rated to me, but that isn't too bad. They got Mesa ( Who's okay... ) in place. Anyways, what do you guys think?

107-55
I may be a Red Sox fan, but the Red Sox are not good enough to get first seed. That goes to the Detroit Tigers, man.

I think you're being a little optimistic, but just a little. I too am a Tigers fan (season tix since '91). I think we're looking at 99-63, and they'll edge the Tribe on the last game of the season.

I truly hope I'm wrong, but I think Sheffield will turn out to be a bust. He might be a great hitter, but he's been a clubhouse cancer everywhere he's been.

How old is Mesa now? 106? He was the stud to end all studs with the '95 Tribe, but that was many years (and many pounds) ago.

Don't get your hopes up too high, missy.

You have to remember that we play in the same division as Cleveland & Minnesota. Both of those teams will not be easy to beat this year.

I'd guess The Tigers to win around 93/94 games.
Should be good enough to make at least the wild card.

And then we can go from there.

You are in a tough division with Minnesota (who beat you last year), Cleveland (who is supposed to be much improved), and Chicago (who won it all in 05, and won 90 games last year).
To win 105 games, it means that two of the mentioned teams above did horrible.
I think 90 wins give or take a few is reasonable.

You can't win 100+ games in that division. You play the Twins,Indians and White Sox half of the season. You can't expect them to beat them 75% of the time. The only easy team they face are the Royals. They will fall back this year and miss the playoffs in 3rd place winning 85 games behind the Indians and Twins.

94-68, somewhere around there. I dont think they will have the same 100+ win record but i think they still will make the playoffs.

I'm going to say 97-65. I don't think they'll quite break that 100 win mark. I don't think any team will this year.
