I re-think them over too much some days and erase them on others, depends on what it was and what I'm doing that will remind me of the moment.

When I was younger I was a heavy-duty "re-thinker." But somewhere in my 50s (I'm now 62) I started to do a lot less of this.
Now if I have an embarrassing moment, I'm usually able to say to myself something like, "Well, you're only human," and just put it to rest. I've somehow managed to become a lot less self-conscious, which sure makes it much easier to glide through and past the stupid things I do.

I'm trying to erase them from my mind but so far I have had no success in completely forgetting about them.

I tend to re-think them and try and figure out different ways to avoid making the same mistake in the future.
