I am a E-Bay seller and I do ship to unconfirmed addresses, but I check them out first to see how many successful purchases they made, but I do ship them. My buyers leave the address on their account alone, but send me a note telling me where to ship it to, I have never had any problems doing that at all.

It is up to each individual seller.
If you can, ask the seller before you bid.
If you pay via paypal, paypal wont cover the seller if she ships to another address.
So if she ships to your friends address and then you file a claim against her with paypal saying the item never came, she would be forced to refund your money!

If the seller agreed to ship to an alternate address, just email the other address to the seller, making sure he/she understands to ship to that other address.

the enterprise loses Paypal enterprise protection in the journey that they deliver to an address except the shown one. that's as a lot because the enterprise. some will; some received't. basically ask earlier you bid next time ; ) chuffed eBaying!
