says in the manual that it can cause the transmission to overheat if the car is moving and u shift to N position ? why is that ? (transmission is automatic)

if i'm not using transmission (which is obvious) while on N, why would it overheat ? what's the relation between engine speed and cooling the transmission ?

I would hope the manual is talking about towing. When the car is running the trasmission fluid is circulating through various cooling processes. If your towing a car the wheels are turning the trasmission through the drive shaft even if the car is in neutral. Since the car is not running the fluid is not circulating and could cause the trasmission to over heat. Many car makers tell you to only tow the newer cars with a flat bed truck to avoid this possible damage

I agree with most posts.. Usually at idle the transmission oil pump is turning real slow and it's not lubing all the parts that are still turning... Also it's a shock to the transmission when you shift from neutral back to drive while going down the highway and that will actually kill it more

The transmission doesn't circulate much fluid in neutral, but the torque converter and final drive will still be turning and heating up.

its like you must not over rev your car in neutral as the transmission got overheated easily the solution is in your torque convertor in the driven side rotor plate is were the oil pump is connected when it is not engaged pump is in idle and the oil pressure is very weak and once it is engaged
you have a very strong pressure to deliver the oil to the whole unit of the system

because in neutral there is often times nothing making the cooler fluid flow properly. it needs to be in gear in order for the oil pump to pump the fluid from the cooler to the transmission.

with the car in neutral , the fluid is NOT flowing through the transmission cooler .

the engine slows to idle thus reducing the cooting effect of the radiator and transmission cooler
