i like this boy, and he knows i like him, and i wanna be friends with him but my friends say i am not his type, but they told me his type & i AM his type because i can be serious and i am VERY social (just not really with crushes), and i make people laugh, and they know that. i just arent serious (one of the things he is) with them unless i want to be! how do i just go up to him and start talking? i am going to go up to him and tel him my name tomorrow, but how do i get farther than that? how do i start conversation? starting a conversation has never been this hard and i want to go out w/ him but i wanna get to know him first.....would he be weirded out if i started up a conversation (because i like him)?

First off, dont listen to your friends. You want to start up a conversation with him. Find out what he likes. Ask his friends. What movies does he like or books he likes to read. There was this guy I was in "love" with for like two years and never had the courage to even say hi. One day I noticed he was reading one of my favorite books. I walked up to him and asked him how the book was going and he answered me. I joked about the ending telling him what would happen, pretending to ruin the end of the book for him. We started laughing. We ended up talking for half an hour. Now when I see him he comes up to me and even hugs me. But I think he see's me as a friend. At least thats something!
When you talk to him, dont think of him as your crush because you'll just get nervous, think of him as a friend or someone your comfortable with and just talk. Ask him if he saw a certain movie. (Research his favorite movie) Tell him what you think about the movie or whatever it is. Even if he liked it and you didnt you could argue over it for a while. It'd be interesting and you'd be talking.
Give it a try.

So your friends know Your Type, huh? People are people, sweetie. As long as he's a respectful boy, you can work with the rest. You have confidence in who You are. If you want to talk to him, ask him who his teacher's are, or what class he has first. Comment on the day. It may be old-fashioned, but it will get the point across that you wouldn't mind if he asked you out sometime, but you know who You are, and you're just down-right happy with you're day. Guys like that-- they can't help it! Good luck!

If you like him....give it a shot. It's as simple as that. There's nothing complicated to it. I promise, you're making this a lot harder than it really is. Talk to him like you would talk to anyone else. Talk to him like he's one of your friends. Talk to him like you would want someone to talk to you if they were trying to get to know you.
However, if you do ask him out, and he does say no (like you say he did before) don't dwell on it. Just be friends with him and move on. You should never try and "make someone like you" because when people do that, they tend to change themselves into something they're not. Or, what's worse, they miss out on a great opportunity for a wonderful relationship with someone who's willing to accept them the way they are.
I know your question is mainly about starting conversation, but I had to add that last paragraph because I know what it's like to almost miss out. I wouldn't want it to happen to you or anyone else.
Anyway, just talk to him like he's any normal person (after all, that's exactly what he is) and above all else, be yourself.

Just a suggestion but I think you should try to find out what he is interested in....music, sport, hobbies etc and see if there is any common ground between you. If there is then you could perhaps ask advice in the chosen area....Major bit of advice for you though..try and be friends with the guy first, if you have any hope with him then being friends first will give him a chance to know you and you to know him without any ties....good luck and just be yourself...don't try to be a 'type', his or anyone else's....xx

Look; life is black, white, shades of gray, and red. Red is love, but there isn't much of that in the world. You like a guy, and he knows you like him. Forget that. Just start by getting a mutual friend to introduce you, stating some likes and dislikes of both of you. If you don't have anything in common, ask who his teachers are, his opinion on the local gossip, anything! If all else fails, just ask one of his friends for the inside scoop on his love life. But I am warning you, do NOT change yourself for any boy, I repeat DO NOT CHANGE YOURSELF OVER A GUY. They aren't worth it.

you can always talk about the teacher you hate, that's a great subject when you want to start a conversation. You could also ask him to help you with your homework, but with something you do need help with. not like in mean girls, where she was actually good at math.

call me old fashioned but I personally do not think girls should ask guys out, just being a little flirty, saying hi, smiling at him when you see him should give him the message, if he doesn't want to go out with you, you need to just accept that and move on.
