A Question as well as a comment and hope I can say this that won't offend anyone..First I think Christians should stop saying God hates homosexuals..GOD loves everyone what God does not love is *SIN* and each one of us is guilty of it.

I think it's the fact that many Sexual practices are condemned in the Bible..My understanding the reason God made sex pleasurable for male/female unions so they would procreate..It speaks so much on male/female relations even Jesus did. What it does not embrace is lust of the spirit and the practices of homosexuals intimate unions can only be classified as Lust of the Spirit..There is scripture OT/NT on a clean spirit and sexual purity and I think this is where the divide is with the Bible and Homosexual Practices. Jesus spoke on Adultery and Lust of the heart and I am sure everyone has commited Adultery based on that statement alone.
Any thoughts?

My thoughts are, He without sin cast the first stone. Yeah I agree people these days tend to use the Bible to hide their hate. I do not care for gay relationships but to each their own.
I feel that hatred towards another is far worse, And I would focus on myself instead of others shortcomings. You have a good point,Take care and may God bless you.

Three thoughts.

One, Nature made sex pleasurable so that every species would procreate. That doesn't mean it can't also be enjoyed for itself. As long as someone somewhere keeps having enough kids to keep the population intact, what's the harm?

Two, adultery only has a social consequence when it's interpreted as nailing your neighbor's wife (or husband). If you're not committed to anyone and there's no danger of producing children, what's the consequence to society?

And three, any other "rules" established by any particular religion which have no material benefit to society are just arbitrary policies intended to set it's members apart from everyone outside it's little "clique." That was the intent of most of Moses' laws. They have no relevance in the modern, non-sectarian world.

Well first of all, God doesn't hate the sinner, He hates the sin. And you are right, He doesn't want anyone to perrish regardless of what a person has done because He does love everyone. No sin is worse than another in His eyes. I also don't believe God just made sex pleasurable just to procreate so I wouldn't feel guilty about that either. Regarding the word lust in general, here are a few verses to check out.

Numbers 39 You will have these tassels to look at and so you will remember all the commands of the LORD, that you may obey them and not prostitute yourselves by chasing after the lusts of your own hearts and eyes.

Job 1 "I made a covenant with my eyes
not to look lustfully at a virgin.

Jeremiah 5:8 They are well-fed, lusty stallions,
each neighing for another man's wife

Proverbs 6:25 Do not lust in your heart after her beauty or let her captivate you with her eyes.

Ezekal 6:9 lThen in the nations where they have been carried captive, those who escape will remember me—how I have been grieved by their adulterous hearts, which have turned away from me, and by their eyes, which have lusted after their idols. They will loathe themselves for the evil they have done and for all their detestable practices

Matthew 5:28 But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

The last verse is probably the one you are referring to based on your comment on everyone has commited adultry based on lust of the heart. Even I have been guilty of that. It's hard sometimes to look at a good looking man and not go on a mental trip. However, I am totally aware when I start to and at the same time I try to figure out where the thought came from or why I even went there to begin with. Free will of the mind is hard to battle at times.

I'm not a Christian, so I couldn't care less what Bible passages people used to condemn one thing or another. It's a book I already think is bunk in the first place.

I do have to wonder though how many Christians have actually taken the time to read it (looks like we have some people who post here who are too lazy to read a couple of paragraphs on this page!) Is there a line condemning male homosexual behavior? Yeah, but then if you keep reading you find lines condemning the wearing of clothing made from two different colored threads, no eating shellfish, or getting tattoos. So why is it OK to believe in some parts but not others? And which ones do you decide on? I'm glad I washed my hands of Christianity years ago.

Personally, I think that corrupt men a thousand year in the past altered the bible to fit what they wanted so it would benefit THEM, and not everybody. Our politicians today do the same thing with our Constitution.

Don't think that anything made by man can't be corrupt simply because of what it represents. God may have told the 50+ something writers of the Bible what to say, but he gave us free will, and thus, couldn't enforce a lot of it. And besides, the Vatican has altered, added to, and remove so many chapters of the book that I can no longer trust in its integrity.

A simpler rule to live by, trust in what your heart says is right. If god exists, then he's the one telling your heart what to say.

When I was majoring in psychology, my professor told my class that it is a scientific fact that the biological makeup of a homosexual is different from that of heterosexuals. There are differences in hormones and differences in neurotransmitters in the brain. Though rarely, there are people who have sexual relations with people of the same sex due to sexual abuse as a child. We all sin and if we are truly sorry for the bad things we have done, God will forgive us and we try not to make those mistakes again. God loves us all.

There's not really much in the Bible regarding "lust" as a sin, unless it's lust for someone else's belongings, or their spouse. If you want to check out what the Bible really says about taboo sexual practices, simply ready Leviticus 18. It gives us our "rules of engagement," so to speak. Interestingly enough, it says that men sleeping with other men is an abomination to God, and then tells men which women they can't choose,,,,to share with their wife. Go figure.

Chris

The Creator is the one that stated that all are guilty of sin and have fallen short of the glory of ALLMIGHTY YHWH.He said that it isn't the sin that he hated as much as the fact that we take such GREAT PLEASURE in sinning. When we do sin it is the fact that we sin willfully that makes him so angry. If you sin willfully after coming to the truth that is the sin.We should all repent and turn from sin and make conscious decisions not to sin it is our choice TODAY!
