I go to this high school where you can choose classes between medical&dental,Law and visual arts, where each category has maybe three specialty. I chose visual arts where there's studio art, ad design, and media tech. I'm choosing between Ad Design and Media Tech.
Any ideas?

Media Technology is your 'best bet' because you'll get 'experience' using computers FIRST, and you'll also get some 'advertising design' ... and it's that computer 'knowledge' that will lead you to the 'better paying jobs' and also to the 'more interesting classes' at the University or College if you go there ...

You missed the boat already when you picked visual arts! Just kidding, but let's just say that it's probably the area that will make you the least money of the three, depending on where you live. As far as the specialty areas go, it was a smart move not choosing Studio Art, since it's harder to find a job with that. And I'm not sure what a Media Tech is, but it sounds a little more technical and a little less arty. If you like creating art & advertising, choose Ad Design.

I'm a graphic designer and I enjoy my field. I told my daughter to imagine going to a job everyday and loving it. Imagine the setting, the people, the work that you can't wait to get to...now what would your choice be? When you get up in the morning, imagine where would you like to go and what work you would like to do. It'll all fall into place if you explore all different areas of the art industry. Good Luck!
