I have a tan-furred male dwarf rabbit who is 5 months old. Can dwarf rabbits eat cereal, if so what cereal can he eat? Any answers will be appreciated.

No, he should be fed proper rabbit food and leafy greens. Fruit is a good treat

No,no,no. Do not feed your bunnies anything but rabbit food and greens. They love sugar and it is bad for them. We had a bunny that went in to a diabetic coma and died from eating apples. The best thing to feed any bunny is timothy based pellets and fresh timothy hay. You can add fresh greens but not any from the cabbage family.Parsley and different lettuce are best. Alfalfa based food has a lot of fat in it. That is why they gobble it up. This and other bunny treats should be just that treats.

I do give my Rabbits a couple of plain Cheerios as a treat. They are low in sugar and high in fiber (whole oats). My vet had no objections. Everytime I walk past them, I call their name and wait for them to come to me, then they get a little Cheerio as a reward. Helps them learn their name and learn to come when I call. But as with any treat, don't over do it. Keep him on a well balanced diet of pellets and fresh hay. Make sure he has fresh clean water all the time and give him lots of attention.

CAN they? Yes. If a toothless infant can gum on a Cheerio, so can a bunny.

SHOULD they? No. Feed your pet food that is made to be best for it. Cereal is people food.

I give my rabbits dry oatmeal, cheerios and coco puffs once in a great while, but very little and not every day.

sure.. my rabbit loves to eat what I do.. make sure that if they try to dont let them live off of it... just a few little pieces wont hurt them..but DONT give it to them every day... maybe if you are eating some and they pounce on you and beg for a flake or 2... just dont suply it in their cage or food area as a normal food for them... they probably shouldn't have any...but we probably shouldn't have 90% of the things we eat either...

Not if you mean people type cereals. They all have sugar and that is bad for any pet. Please only feed the rabbit its own food and eat the "people" food yourself.
