When I'm coming out of a turn and hit a hole or bump of some kind the steering tries to staighten up violently. Anyone know what might be the problem?

i would check the lugnuts to start off with, its highly unlikely that shocks or absorbers would pul lthe car straight, if they were that bad, they would have broke alread, i agree with lower arm and bushing also, and make sure that the half shaft is in all the way, if both of these appear to be ok then i would have to go to a mechanic, or a friend that knows a little more about susp.

it sound you need a proper wheel alignment as if your castor is out of orbit
and better check your tyres condition like air pressures threads etc
and check your suspention system a very bad shock absorbers can caused erratic driving and very unsafe on the road have a good trip to your mechanic for some proffessional advise and remedies
goodluck
