I am a huge fan of Cirque du Soleil, but I am bit squimish about Zumanity, I am trying to decide if my hubby and I should see it or not. Any info on why you liked it or hated it would be great.

The Zumanity question! I saw Zumanity shortly after it opened, and from what I have read, it has changed some since that time. Having seen other Cirque shows early on, and then sampling the same show later, I've generally found that the more mature show is always better and develops a flow that is almost always lacking in the early version of their shows (the one exception to this was "O").

Starting with that disclaimer probably indicates that the one time I saw the show I felt it had some problems. The show is sexy (and definitely very adult), though sometimes it felt more like it was pressing too hard to be so.

Looking back, I think a few acts worked REALLY well (the fishbowl and the disjoint artist were great acts that I would love seeing again). I liked the comedic element with the Puritians too. Some other acts were a little more of a mixed lot that had their moments, but also either seemed awkward or not quite all there.

It is worth seeing with a couple caveats: if you aren't sure you want to see something with nudity and adult themes, you're probably not going to enjoy it. And while this is a good show with good production values, if you want to go, keep expectations in check. I look back and if this was a show without the Cirque Du Soleil name, I probably would hold it in higher regard as the name brought an expectation established by the high water mark of shows like Alegria and "O." Zumanity has it's moments, and some good moments at that, but it's not on par with the best of Cirque.

If you have seen the Zumanity show in Las Vegas would you advice me to see it or not?

Personally I was a little disappointed... BUT I saw it the first week it came out, and I know that shows typically start a bit weak.

The thing I found less-than-thrilling was that it is by far the 'smallest' Cirque production. Instead of 15 or 20 people doing synchronized amazing feats, it's more like 2 or 3 at a time, in the effort to make it seem more 'intimate'. The people I know who loved it were most impressed with the fact that it is "funny", which makes it different for a Cirque show. Of course it's all sexy-type humor, so if that's not your style, you might not find it funny.

They do also come out into the audience with the intent to embarass... so if that would heighten your squeamishness, then you might want to skip it.

My husband and I are also HUGE fans of Cirque du Soleil shows. We have seen all of them in Vegas and decided to see Zumanity. We got tickets for a huge discount because we got suckered into the timeshare thing at NY NY. Let me tell you what a disappointment that show was. For the pre show they have these fat ladies in lingere and fishnets and g-strings going around giving the audiance chocolate covered strawberries. They bend down and sit on your husbands lap (which is just weird not because I am a jealous woman). The show was so freaky that we left half way through it. There is not the beautiful grace and art that a typical Cirque show has. Save your money!!!! Go see the show at the Wynn if you haven't seen it yet. It is just like a Cirque show. I think it is a guy who used to do the Cirque shows. I don't love Celine Dion but her show is awesome. Very Cirque du Soleil. KA is also another awesome show.

Zumanity was amazing. I adored the show. I will tell you though that depending on your views of sexuality/sensuality you may or may not be offended by the show. Zumanity touches on so many subjects thought of by some to be tabboo. It has homosexual scenes and some very hard sexual content. While it is done with class it is still a cabaret show! Our tickets were upper balcony and I wish I would have paid more to be on lower level.

It is steamy, sexy and full X rated in a tasteful, not raunchy manner. It is sexual in nature and even has two gay men kissing.
If this is not for you do not see it. I liked it and it was fun.
