The best advice I can give you is to be yourself. I'm pretty sure that if your peers agree that you're the right candidate for the job, then they're going to vote for you. Make sure that you talk to everyone around school, votes are sometimes right there looking at you,but you don't know because you don't talk to these individuals. It's great that you're able to go up to complete strangers and talk to them! I would also go around and talk to students and see what they really want to see happen and need around school. That wins major votes if you are addressing things that your peers want to see done around school that hasn't already. Make sure you make decorative posters that stand out and place them up around school everywhere,so everyone knows that you're running. As for being funny and crazy that's great, but it may be a negative to you winning class vice president. People may view you as not being serious enough,so that may cost you some votes. Try to get some help from your friends who support you in this or your family, make it sort of a campaign committee to help you with all of this.
Good Luck and I hope you the best in your endeavors!

It is important to speak to people even if they don't speak back. always stoop lower than the person that you're listening to they really know that you have their attention. its good to be funny, but approach some subjects seriously. People do like laughing but you want to be considered as a serious candidate. Start looking for things in the school that need improvement and also the complainants of your school mates, because with those things you can form issues for your campaign. My daughter ran for vice and then president and won both. The day of election she passed out pens that had her name on them and it was very effective because those were the pens that were used to cast votes. (this may or may not be allowed in your school, but if there is no policy against it use them) When election time rolls around it is very important that you do not forget to ask each student for their vote. Why not president? Good luck

You could run on a strongly anti-administration platform. Basically, oppose the administration at any opportunity and you'll draw support. Nobody likes the administration and the idiotic rules, except for a small minority (maybe 10% at best). It's a sure bet. There's got to be rules that aren't very popular (maybe the school's overstepping its jurisdiction by interfering on Myspace, maybe the dress code is draconian, maybe the school's stealing cell phones, maybe the student parking lot is awful and inferior to the visitor lot).

The biggest problem with class officers positions is that they are powerless and never, at least that I can remember from my own experience, accomplish anything of substance. If you want to accomplish anything of substance, you'll have to be really forceful and confrontational against the school. They tend to say no whenever their rules are challenged and it depends upon strong popular support (probably three quarters or so, which is probably not too hard for issues that are agreed upon by most everybody) to do anything.

Become involved and saturate yourself with school issues that will effect students. Be comfortable with your decisions and know the material that you would present to the student body. Not certain if your school has debates, most do. Stay one step ahead of the competition. Talk to your teachers, they know what issues are on the table. Be confident and you'll do just fine. Good Luck!!!

Set a platform in writing, and stick to it. Find what the class needs and wants. Talk to everyone and make them feel they are important to the class.
If you get elected then stick to your platform.
