ive slept in a shop doorway and got woke up by the owner trying to open his shop the next day but i was not in a good state to remember too much about it! i would imagine the 1st few weeks would be tough until you learnt how to play the game and learn the do's and donts?

It's not a pleasant experience and without the help of friends it is, sometimes, next to impossible to get out of that situation. Some cities/states have no means to help the homeless besides shelters and missions. These are usually not state or city run but private by groups and the Church.
The problem is they tend to keep you in exactly the same situation only meeting immediate needs like food, temporary shelter and clothing. They don't provide any way to actually stop the cycle.
This does all depend on where you are at, some places are better than others for help. They do the best they can with what little they have.

No, thank the blessed Lord, I have always been able to work and keep a roof over my head. I do know some people who exist that way, I would hardly call it living.
It is extremely rough and dangerous, there are many cruel people who beat up the homeless as some type of a sick game. Several have been killed in large cities in my part of the country because of these types of assults.
I cannot even imagine having to live that way, so I would never think about having to exist that way.
The real frightening part of this, is that many people in the USA; which is one of the richest countries in the world; live only a few paychecks away from having to live on the street.
I thank God every day for my blessings, the ability to work and have a warm comfortable home where I can spend time with my family and friends.

I would never live on the streets. I have to many good friends for them to let that happen to me. But lets just say I was.... I doubt I'd be there long. Go to a shelter and find a job... I'd work my way back up.

No and no i couldn't put up with it..I would be very afraid to even sleep rough for one night.. I hate being cold and i like to be locked in safe and sound, I would hate it. I can't think of anything worse and to be so lonely too that no one would care.. awful...

Yes I have. but I was not alone.I was with some mates who were really into 'night' and life in the streets,if you know what I mean. So,I was not really afraid to sleep outside. They knew where we should sleep etc. but I couldn't do this for long.I called my mommy and went back home ;)

no i ain't but i would get arrested and go to prison so i wouldn't have to sleep on the streets, in prison they have it easier then a lot of people
but if my plan didn't work i would nick a shopping trolley and a load of blankets and sleep in the shopping trolley
