they'll finish 5 hundered. i also think that they'll surprise a lot of people and start out strong leading their divison for at least the first month.

Maybe I am a little biased being a huge Pirates fan but I am going to go out on a limb and say a .500 record is within reach. But this has a lot of if's.
IF the starting pitching holds up.... itis a young staff and very talented but also very inexperienced. I think Snell has a tough run this year but Maholm finds his groove. IF Chris Duffy can get on base all year long.... IF Jose Castillo continues his development, I still see a lot of upside with a good ceiling here.... IF Jack Wilson can learn to hit and stop worrying about Castillo....... IF Paulino and Sanchez continue to get better defensively..... IF Xavier Nady doesnt screw up too bad in right..... IF Laroche ends up being what we hope....IF Bay is really healthy after his surgery......IF our bullpen can hold up without Gonzo, and hoping Torres can get the job done until Capps matures a bit. OK, maybe I am asking a lot. The big IF though....... IF Mark Cuban buys the Pirates we will be World Champs again

Considering that they went 65-97 last year ( I only memorized that because the Tigers went 97-65 ) I wouldn't expect them to do anything this year. They will most likely place last in the division, if not second from last, and they will probably finish with a very similar record, or maybe only 5 more wins. So either 65-97 or 70-92. They don't have enough experience on their team to make too much of a difference this year. Give it time. Every team has its explosion onto the scene... eventually.

I think the Pittsburgh Pirates will be at .500 and have an 81-81 record this season. The season after that they have a decent chance at a wild-card spot.

I will say 75-80 wins is possible. I would hope more wins because I am a long suffering Pittsburgh Pirates fan of 40 years.

Oh i feel for the Pirates fans. This won't be their year either. They will manage win maybe 75 games at best. I just don't understand why they don't make some dramatic changes.

Not very good. They did nothing to really improve themselves and even though Jason Bay is great , they do not have that much else. I am sure Bay can not wait for free agency, I would day 65 wins.
