I've been told that hotels on Majorca are much cheaper if booked from Germany. I don't know if it's true. Does anybody know? If it's true, it will be much cheaper to reserve it using Germany- based travel website

But they are cheaper from Germany just because the agencies are selling holiday packages, not only hotels. And mallorca is like second home for most Germans for vacation.

Check this site for hotels www.hrs.de

It shouldn't be a problem to book even if you are residing in the US. Just look out whether you can use a credit card (Visa) to pay. The travel agencies are happy enough to take your money if you want to book through them.

I have used www.expedia.de in the past (2004 and 2005) and the staff were really helpful. l also like www.ltur.de because their search function is really great. Both sites are in German.

As somebody already wrote, the agencies are selling package holidays which will include the flight from Germany.

For you this can be benificial if you can fly to Germany cheaper than to Mallorca. (See www.ltu.com - they generally have the best deal to Germany from the US.)

If the German on the above websites is too much from you, try booking through UK-sites like www.expedia.co.uk. The Brits also got good deals to Mallorca.

http://www.tui.com - They are the biggest travel agency in the world, maybe they can even get you your flights from the US for a discount if you book a package holiday through them.
