It started quite well...
"than im like we dont and she goes, well "..
then turned in to a Catherine Tate sketch.

What is it you are ACTUALLY asking

Many women do, but the best thing is to find clothing that is flattering but also appropriate for the age and event. I don't think young girls your age should wear clothes that are too suggestive, although my definition of this may not be the same as others. I can't really tell from your description if this was the case, or if your cousin is a mighty prude.

Sure, boys dress differently, but boys also take their shirts off when it gets hot or when they want to show off, so it's the same thing, just in a different way.

You can find cute clothes that leave all the important things covered, even when you sit down, but are still attractive.

Sweetie life is much different for your generation that it was your older adults like myself. When she saw the dress on you perhaps she though it as suggestive or revealing and she just doesn't want you to project that image and get the wrong kind of attention from guys. Modesty is more attarctrive than making yourself cheap and available. When I was engaged to my husband and when we would go out I always made sure I was dressed properly so I would not be a distraction, I think your cousin was trying to protect you.

The way you asked the Question was" like "a bit confusing , however I think she meant that the dress was not age appropriate for you , you looked to mature in it & would only be inviting trouble that you have no idea how to handle emotionally .

In America, in the 21st century, many teenage girls and 20-somethings (usually at or below 25) wear very skimpy outfits to conform to society's standards of how women/girls should dress. Unfortunately, these standards are very low--for both sexes.

For pre-teens to 25 year olds, there are stores such as Hollister, Abercrombie, Limited 2 (although that is fading out, I believe), and possibly some others that encourage girls to wear skin-tight clothes and show off their cleavage, midriffs, and legs at younger and younger ages. Modesty is not in their vocabulary. So, in a sense, almost every woman has dressed "like a sex object" at one point in their lives. The Baby-Boomers did it too at Woodstock, and during the 60s and 70s, but not as young as today's kids are being marketed to.

Even guys are losing their sense of fashion, and conforming to society. How many guys do you see who are between the ages of 11-25 (give or take) with their pants at their waist? Exactly. Every guy now wears his pants at his knees (between these ages and yes, I am generalizing), with his boxers being the only thing covering himself up, as if they are just ready to toss off their pants and jump in bed with one of these Abercrombie drones that society has created.

Females are living sex objects. If not there would be no more people. However it is wise to be careful so as not to attract the unwanted perhaps violent attentions of a male that does not take teasing lightly.
