There are mountains in both the east and the west.

The Rockies are higher (newer) than the Appalachians.
There are more remote areas in the Rockies.

Now that I think about it, if you are talking about numbers, I guess I'd have to say the west. The Rockies are wider than the Appalachians.

The most mountainous spot is the western. In the eastern area all we pretty much have is the Applaichan Islands

between California and the east coast, that's 3 hours. at the same time as that's 8:00 am in California, that's 9:00 am in the mountains, that's 10:00 am in the universal, and that's 11:00 am on the east coast. The time zones are jap, universal, Mountain, & Pacific.

I would have to say western U.S. I think there would be more mountains in the California region.
