I was an escapist, but it lead to an addiction that almost destroyed both my family and me. Now I deal with reality knowing that 85% of reality is negative. I cherish the 15% of my day that is positive, and most of the time that is with family and close friends. The other 85% I meet head on and work through it, and at the end of the day I can add another notch to my 15%.
Thank you for the question!

Thank you for the question! It brings individual consciousness to the forefront. So as for myself: I try not to be an escapist,
(which in a way i believe is a natural tendency) The cure for all form of escapism, (the bad one I mean) is secular existentialism. It forces us to be responsible for our actions.

yes. I do every night in my dreams and everyday in my thoughts. I escape to a place where there is no pain and suffering and every person has a song in their hearts. Seems everyone there has escaped from here at the point in time their/our lives need to feel the hope that the belief in magical places brings us.

Isn't everyone? I am -books, sewing, Yahoo, playing with my dog, listening to the rain, watching it snow, walking on the beach, photography, writing, my kids and my grand kids . My job is my job - not my life.
I heard a minister once say he had sat by the bedside of many dieing men and had never once had one say "I wish I had spent more time at work."

Absolutely. I love to escape. And find creative ways to do that - reading, writing, thinking, Yahoo answers, eating, imagining, walking, praying, anything I can to get out of doing what I don't want to do.

Absolutely. Movies is my choice of escape. I especially enjoy the action/advenure/tough guy venue.

When it's necessary I am.
I escape in reading, writing, painting, gardening - or just taking a long walk in pleasent surroundings by myself.
