I planned a trip to the great wolf lodge. I already paid for it...it is on tuesday coming up. It was supposed to be me , my hubby, my daughter and her freind. My hubby was called into work and cannot get out of it. My daughters freind bailed because she didn't want to spend the night away from home. So now it is me and my five year old. I can bring up to four people So a friend i go to school with has a bf with a six yr old boy. But i am not sure if she could even take him or if he would be whiney the whole time. Should I ask her to go and bring him? I have a 10 yr old girl niece. Her dad might not let her miss school. She sometimes doesn't want to play with 5yr old because she thinks she is too old. I am worried if i take her she might not play with her and try to go off and do her own thing. I want to have some one for my daughter to play with. Or do i take the girl i go to school with and my duagher and one of my friends who likes to play with kids. Who should I take?

can you get some of the $ back? maybe it would be nice just to take your daughter. i'm sure she would really like spending time alone doing fun stuff with her mom!

Rescheduel? If hubby cant go then find out the cancelation policy, if it can not be taken later, hmmmm.

I would really think about several things. If you dont know this friend from school too well (seeing as you arent sure what her child is like.) You may not want to start out by going on a trip with kids. If she brings the bf you might get stuck babysitting the whole trip. Also if the children do not get along that could be a nightmare, and strain a friendship.

Or here is a 3rd option if you can not rescheduel, how about a "mommy and me" vacation? The time we get to spend with our children while they still think we're "cool" (haahaa) is very fleeting. You have her for a good 8 more years, until the teen years sweep her away and mommy becomes "Oh my god MOM!" :) Why not spend that time as just the girls, it will be one of those things you have to look back on and remember during those hectic teen years. (Trust me I have an 11 year boy thats an early bloomer, and I feel it coming already.) The good thing is MOM! becomes Mommy again when its her turn and she looks to you again for guidance.

Hope that helps a bit.

If this is supposed to be relaxing, don't take anyone that your daughter doesn't get along with VERY well. She will haev more time playing by herself and hanging out with the adults than fighting with someone- and so will you! Take people that you won't have to worry about, and have a good time!
Also, if you are not taking kids, wrap a present (doesn't have to be expensive) for each day. That way she has something to look forward to, and something to keep her occupied.
You might also try taking your best friend for you, and a teenager for your daughter. It gives you time to go out since you brought a sitter, you would give the teenager some time on her own when you had time with your daughter, and your daughter gets to hang out with a "cool" teenager. Just make sure it is someone your daughter likes, not some bossy thing!

Have fun whatever you decide!

UGG that made me tired just reading it! You cant just call and cancel or change the date? If I were you I would just go with my daughter and call it a day. Have a nice trip with just her and you, she will remember it forever :)
