I hated getting spanked too. It made me stop throwing tantrums and banging my head against the wall though.

I know you said children only, but I remember what it was like, for me it was the fact that it did sting or hurt, but only for a little while. There was a shock factor too, but now that I can look back on it, I think it was more of the fact that I was being disciplined that way. I mean no one wants to be spanked in order to be disciplined, but when there is no other route to take to straighten up your kids, you have to do what you have to do in order to let them know they HAVE to listen and respect you.
Even if you have to gain that through a type of violence.
By the way, I just asked my little niece what it was about spankings that would make her cry and she said that they hurt and she just didnt want to be spanked at all. At the same time I asked her if it worked and she said Im not a brat anymore, so I guess so. She is so cute.

I hate spanking like a pat is a okay punishment but spanking on the butt or arm hurts badly. So if you do that pat them. Once my mom spanked me and like my butt was red all day and hurt when I sat on it. Sorry Too much information.

I think that instead of the parents spanking the children that they either have to stan din the corner or have a toy or something of value taken away for a couple of days!

lol...I liked to get spanked by grown men. It causes physical pain, shock and joy but I've never cried about it.

Each spanking is different. Sometimes it hurts, embarrassing or shocked.

i do no longer understand which you should take this passage unquestionably actually. no longer all infants respond to being spanked. some respond greater effective to revocation of privileges; some to a time-out; some to greater chores, etc. The "rod" could be what ever works terrific on your particular baby. the significant ingredient isn't which you spank your baby, yet quite which you self-discipline him/her effectively as needed.

Both! Of course! Do not hit your children. Pain, physical or psychological, does not "cure" any behavior.
