Is it legal to bring a LOT of fake purses back from Canal St? My friend and I are both thinking about checking an empty suitcase so we can fill them up with fake stuff to bring home (mostly handbags). I'm nervous about getting to the airport and getting in trouble because they think we are trying to wholesale it or something. Anyone??

I am going to New York City....Chinese ladies...got ya. I've heard a few people saying that they will take you down in their cellars to see them...that's kinda scary. Any advice for buying them without getting mugged? lol...

um, either they are stupid and will think it's a collection or they are smart and think you will sell these for a profit. if neither of these are they case, you should fed ex them back to your house or work and no one will ever know.

it will be fine. i've done that plenty of times, just take off all the tags and keep them in the dust bags.
and when you check in baggage, they usually dont check it unless they notice something suspicious and life threatening about it.
Have fun and go wild.
p.s. when you are on canal st, they have amazing knock off jewelry and clothing.
Just look for the little chinese ladies with fanny packs and walkie talkies.

are you going overseas or something? i'm not aware of any issues with taking a load of fakes out of the country. bringing them in seems to be a different story, depending on where you're coming from.

dont take more then 10 for each.b/c you dont want to waste money on haveing to leave them in the airport for others to have

i heard that it is not illegal at all to buy the purses but it is completely illegl to be selling them
