I just got injured and I don't think I can finish my classes this semester - one teacher told me he could do a credit/no credit and my other teacher (Math) said I would have to take a W. This class is not one that is transferable and I would have to take it again in summer or fall anyways....what do you think? Will another school reject me because of it? I have a 3.8 gpa....

I am at a community college now (in CA)

thanks

It really doesn't matter if you have generally good grades (which you have. BTW nice work!). You might get the question "Why do you have a Withdraw on your transcript?". However, you have a really legitimate answer "I got injured and needed time off to heal." If you start having multiple "Ws" over time, then you might have a problem because it shows a pattern of not being able to finish things. In your case, I wouldn't worry about it. You are in a good position!

Just be ready to give an explanation anywhere you go whether it'll be higher education or your next job.

Everyone falls, how fast you get up is what actually counts. Admit what happened and why and you should have no problem.

I used to hire college students for internships in a prior job. From time to time, I would see the 'stumble'; a good student with a bad semester later in the career. I would simply ask 'what happened' and see what they said. Just don't be too truthful - one guy told me he partied too hard that time - not a good answer. If that's the case, find a good one, having mono is a typical one.

It's not bad at all especially since your GPA is extremely high. I had a W on my transcript and I didn't have any trouble getting into Grad school.

it doesnt look bad if your other grades are good. or if your past grades are good. if you have an excuse like a medical reason its even better. dont worry about it. thats never the deciding factor for colleges.
