Calgary - they nearly won two years ago - possibly Carolina - they won last year although they don't have Weight and Recchi this year

Definitely Calgary a team that has everything going for it except perhaps some scoring issues but in the playoffs its not scoring goals that is most important but preventing them by having good defense and goal tending which Calgary has. Now that they have Conroy back, Iginla will only play better in the playoffs and then they have Phaneuf who can match up against any of the other top D-men in the West. Hopefully Calgary can knock out Detroit in the first round and open up the West a little more. I get the feeling we will be seeing another great Anaheim-Calgary rematch in the playoffs.

Without a doubt it would be a team from the Western Conference. Both Minnesota and Calgary could make a big time run especially if Kipper gets hot in net for the Flames, In the East I do not see anyone beating Buffalo except maybe Ottawa or NJ if Brodeur stands on his head. If the Rangers get in as an 8 seed I am going down to the Bank and seeing what i have in there and put it on Buffalo.

They have not gained a interest in God-knows of-how-long. in accordance to the present standings, the Oilers are 17 factors in the back of the Flames (the present #8 seed). With 9 video games last, the Oilers could win all of them with the intention to have the slightest hazard. I did some calculations, and in spite of the shown fact that the Oilers are not taking part in this nighttime, if the Flames could beat the pink Wings, then the Oilers would be formally eradicated.

I hate to say it because I'm a Caps fan, but it's the Carolina Hurricanes. First and foremost, they won the Stanley Cup Finals against the Oilers last year, and are the reigning NHL champs. They have great forward and goalie depth, plus experience and an even better Cam Ward and Justin Williams than before.

None the top teams (especially in the West) got tougher. Islanders will probably miss the playoffs with that Idiot Simon out. Carolina has no chance against Buffalo or NJ.

Minnesota....better than 3-4-5-6-7-8. in the East..The NW has a very competitive division, unfortunately whoever survives theWest is so beaten up, God Forbid, eveen the Leafs could win the cup.

calgary is the best bet for that. theyve been there recently (right before the lockout), they have one of the best goalies in the league, they are physical and they are fast. so i wouldnt be surprised to see them win a round or two.

i think any low seeded team out west including flames, wild, sharks, stars, and out east-hurricanes just look dead, but i do believe that with smyth the islanders are looking like a solid team, but they need ricky back thats for sure
