Mainly the culture of parents to sue anyone and everything for as much as possible whenever possible.

As a result, insurance premiums for taking children anywhere got to such a silly level that it was no longer affordable.

Same reason that most recreational areas these days have the slide removed or only 1/3 height, the roundabout welded solid and the see saw eithre removed, welded up or "shrunk".

If little Bobby grazes his knee these days, mom and dad wants to sue someone - in my day you didn't whinge as much and enjoyed life - bumps scrapes and all.

It is a shame though, because the litigious interests of the greedy have spoiled it for everyones children.

Field trips, recreational areas, scouting, adverture groups - ALL of them are basically cancelling things left right and centre because, just like life, there ARE one or two risks involved in living.

Shame isn't it.

in elementry school a childs mind has to have that to devlope, call it a type of reward. Once you enter Highschool and even Middle School teachers, and Adminstrators hope you are responsable enough to do your work with grades as your incentive. Also if you pay taxes would you really wnat your money going to send some 17 year old guy to the local farm or to help them with their education?
