The majority of classes have a uniform number of credits with short workshops or physical ed courses having a lower number of credits. A few courses that are very specialized (think pre-vet, pre-med, law) might have an increased number of credits compared to the norm.

I would be most concerned about balancing your schedule. If you are taking a demanding, high credit course, you might want to take others that have a more typical credit amount. It should make it easier for you to balance the workload so you can do well in all your classes.

As I college student myself I personally I would go for the less for more. Only becuase it will allow you to have more free time. Also you don't want to overwork yourself, will result in less focus on class work/performance. Personal experience, I took 13 different classes last semester for 17 credits. I thought I was going to die also my grades ended up not being too great. This semester I went for 8/9 different classes for 15 credits and I am havinga blast with all my free time.
Do what you feel you can handle. Good luck in college.
