Today in school someone told me that on IM last night someone IM'd him and was pretending to be me. I am pretty sure this is not the first time that this has happened, and I am also fairly sure I know who it is ( have a list of about 5 possible people). The guy who told me what had happened said that he would give me "my" screen name, but I am not sure what to do. I don't want this person going around and saying stuff that I wouldn't on IM. I need ideas on what to say to them, what to do, how to confront the problem, and also how to figure out who it is for sure - I definatly want to stop them. I have already created another screenname for "them" this time. But is this a good idea? !!! PLEASE HELP ME, THIS IS URGENT!

You need to change your password, or just get a whole new ID. If you get a new account don't give your real info, like your b-day or where you were born. Anybody who knows you would know those things to get into your account.
As far as what has already been done, make sure the people who thought they were talking to you know that it wasn't you. And start spreading a rumor that you know who did it & your parents are going to press charges, that they are in talks with a lawyer about the situation. Actually, I have no idea how to go about confronting the people who you believe did it unless you just tell them that you suspect them & one day when they least expect it you will get even.

Yeah change your password. Dude, I had a screen name once and somehow other people got the password or whatever and like took it over. I dont have it now, I dont know what happened to it but I know I couldnt use it anymore because they changed the password and just like made it theirs. It really didnt do any damage to me though. I think you should change your password, and dont tell anyone, and dont make it something people can easily guess if they know you and maybe you should have something your friends ask ((like one certian question like... "whats your favorite place in the whole world?" and dont make the answer obvious. Something like Honolulu Hawaii, or my attic or something and its gotta be exactly that.)) that only you would know the answer to and if you answer it right its obviously you, but if its the person and they dont understand or answer the question then your friends will know its not you and they can confront them and stop talking to them. Get what I'm saying? Good Luck.

You can delete your screenname nd change ur password. If this person keeps doing it then apparently he/she doesn't have a life.........try to figue out who did like list or think of all ur enemies if they say bad things u should tell a parent or a teacher.....good luck....

No, do not get them back, that would only make it wore, 2 worngs don't make a right, fire with fire just make s abigger fire, just speak to them, or to ur parents, or their parents, tell ythem to .
And change ur password.
