Bond 22 will be an original story and a continuation of Casino Royale.
Rumors have been spread that Bond 22 may be an adaptation of one of the short stories included in the collection "For Your Eyes Only". The Particular short story being discussed is entitled "Risico". In "Risico" James Bond is sent by M to investigate a drug smuggling operation based out of Italy that is pumping narcotics into England. Whether or not they use this story as inspiration is up to the producers. (The story "Risico" was previously incorporated into the film "For Your Eyes Only".)
Other Fleming short story titles which have been rumored to be the basis for future Bond films include "The Property of a Lady" (previously filmed as part of "Octopussy"), and "Quantum of Solace".
