Golden Rule--less is more. Always use moisturizer w/SPF 15 or greater, wear sheer foundation, and black mascara. Keep your eyebrows groomed (but not overtweezed). If you're going for a dramatic eye look, keep the lipstick/lipgloss neutral, and vice versa. A red mouth looks stunning with very little blush and neutral eyes with black mascara. Buy the Beauty Buyble (cheaper on Amazon than in the bookstores)--lots of great tips, and they give you product samples!

I agree with answer 1 that less is better. However, depending on your color (light/med complexion) wear brown or brown/black mascara. If you have darker skin tone then black will be ok.
The idea in wearing make-up is to look like you are not wearing make-up. You want to accent your eyes, lips and cheeks without looking made up.
Look for gloss and lip conditioners that add a hint of color and look natural at the same time.
Remember if you are going to wear foundation or powder, to not stop at your jaw-line, smooth it down onto your neck. Some ladies forget this trick and it's unbecoming.
Hope that helps!

-apply any facial moisturizer before applying makeup, bcoz it's better for ur skin and it helps when removing makeup.it makes it easier
-apply concealer on ur eyelids before applying the eyeshadow so that it will last longer
-the color of the foundation should be as similar as possible to ur skin color
-mix alittle amount of creamy bronzer with ur foundation and apply it on ur face ..u'll look amazing
-don't use dark colors of eyeshadows at morning or all the day .use it just at evening
i hope that helps :)
