have a few misdemaeners for drinking when i was younger no felonys or theft just a few misdemeanors i was just selected last month for jury duty went thru all the good stuff but was not selected because the case was pleaded out please explain if you know 4 step kids plus one on the way could use all the help i can get

juries are supposed to be a random selection of your peers and that includes other criminals too.

How are employers finding out that you have a record? If you truly have only misdemeanors that should not prevent you from getting a job since employers can legally make hiring decisions with respect to felony convictions only.

They can't ask, and you shouldn't volunteer. Take care of yourself and those five kids, too.

Some employers might think you are a risk.
Next time you get called for jury duty tell the you are not "moral" enough to serve. Also tell them you have 4 children to attend to. In my county people can be excused for that reason.

Be honest with employers and let them know your situatuyion. Otherwise it looks like you're trying to hide something.
