Depends on what you mean by good reader. If you (or whoever the seventh grader is) has the problem of reading whatever book it is too fast then I would go to a longer book. If the problem is the books bore that person, they are bored with whatever murder or mystery book they have at that age, or really anything else, I would advise any of John Grisham's books. Especially The Client. Do be aware though that there is some swearing, but the books are not too graphic for seventh grade.

When I was that age I was required to read "Lord of the Flies". It is a somewhat frightening book, but it got me into reading when I was a kid. Furthermore, it has much to say about man's inhumanity toward man, and yet it reads as if narrated by a youngster. I find it to be fascinating to this day: a great story told so well, and with a modern moral that I feel 7th graders these days are ready for. I have been an avid reader, and this book is one of my all time favorites.

Depends on what you like, but you might try:
Robert Penn Warren, "All the King's Men"
John Steinbeck, "The Grapes of Wrath"
Sinclair Lewis, "Arrowsmith"
Philip Roth, "Portnoy's Complaint"
Umberto Eco, "The Name of the Rose"
John Irving, "The World According to Garp"
OH, YEAH - if you're a REALLY good reader, try:
Kono Abe, "Woman in the Dunes"
Haruki Murikami, "A Wild Sheep Chase"
Have fun!

Ever heard of the Hobbit.. it's like the book that started it all when it comes to the Lord of the Rings.. this is no easy reading, and yet it's pretty enchanting... I give it 5 stars..
Great Expectations is a really good book.

It all depends on what you like to read. I would say Vampire kisses, Twilight, Blood and Chocolate etc. Or if you dont like vampires..maybe something more relistic like How to be popular, Skin, Holes, Sisterhood of the traveling pants, Someone like you etc. Or maybe something like Uglies, Midnight for Charlie Bone, Daughters of the Moon, The giver etc. or maybe your into manga..... It's all about your tastes! i really hope that this helps, let me know if it does!

I have lived a 1000 years
I dont now how to spell the author's name without looking at the book, but go to amazon and type in that book title and it should give you a description about it.
It is a wonderful book, it isnt to long, about 200 pages and youll learn while reading it, and also maybe cry. Its about the Holocost and the author is telling you how she went through it. Its a really good book.
