Are rockstars too straight nowadays, my guess is no. There are quite a few with very public problems. I extend my question to the pop queens too, Britney, etc.

Some of the Drifters had a chance to die. The current line up was in a nasty car accident a couple of days ago. I'm guessing it will be some old person that was once famous dieing of cancer or a heart attack. The closest to my generation is Kylie Minogue. She has has bouts of cancer that comes and goes.

my bet though is that whoever it is (and i don't wish to guess) will be 27 at the time of death.... that dreaded 27 curse that has taken too many of our greatest rockstars too early..... hendrix, janis joplin, jim morrison, brian jones, kurt cobain, gary thein (uriah heep), pigpen (grateful dead), and so on

if u mean the next one to lose popularity... probably fergie... but if u mean actually like kick the bucket die... probably mick jagger or somebody else from the rolling stones... THEYRE FRIGGIN OLD!!!
