if ur talkin about crack files in terms of gaming... u usually use it when ur playing an illegal copy of a game. the crack file would be downloaded, then copied, and paste it over a similiar file in the game folder in ur pc, replace the old file with the new one. that's wat cracks are for. u'll then be able to play the game normally without errors such as "insert correct cd rom into drive"

It is a pirated software working as licensed software & not having a limited or trial use. But by cracking it to full version by a crack provided by hacker in form of 1. .exe replacement or 2. by serial number or 3. by key generator or 4. by program file patch etc.

A crack is either a version of software that doesnt require an otherwise required registration code, or it is the code itself for a full release of a product.
You can find these for a lot of things out on the web, but beware that many dont work for one reason or another, and some are simply a method of getting trojans installed on your system.

Downloading cracked games is illegal go and buy them, it's better..
