I'm pregnant with my first baby and due on Monday. I leaked some colostrum for the first time today and was really suprised by the colour - is this normal? Thanks

Colostrum, is a very deep yellowish orange when you first start lactating. You`re ok, isn`t it amazing that that stuff is soooo important for your baby?

It's normal to be yellow, the first colostrum you get is quite thick for newborns and is yellow in colour, but not sure about orange. I'd ask your Health Visitor or GP.

Yes its a yellow/orange colour at first. It can look like a sort of watery pus so don't panic. Only panic if your nipple becomes red hot / swollen or smelly , then you have a little infection in your milk duct. When they become heavy and sore it can help to put a savoy cabbage in the fridge and then peel off the leaves and put in your bra, the relief is instant.

Very normal to be yellow to an orange color.

Yes, it is dark yellow/ orangish.
