The first answer is stupid. The scored would be too close, maybe even end in ties.

90% of people filling their brackets don't want to take chances on the low seeded teams...But that's why they are worth more points.

The way knowledgeable players score: you add the round plus the seed to get the score for each round...It allows players to take chances on the lower seeds to get a better score. Otherwise, everyone would always pick the favorite.

For example...VCU beat Duke, they are the 11 seed, anyone who picked them to win would get 12 points (11 seed + 1st round) - 2nd round worth 2 points + seed, 3rd round + seed and 4th round + seed...

The final 4 winners are worth 25 points & 50 for champion.

But thats just how its useally done...You're able to make your own changes.

Usually it doesn't matter (the same people would win either way), but since you didn't make rules, I think you have to weigh each game evenly--one point a game.

If you set up a system with different points in different rounds, or double points for underdog victories, before you collected brackets, these would be good, but since you didn't I think you have to keep it as simple and straightforward as possible.
