Leg muscles are supplied with nerves from the spinal cord.

Muscle twitch when they get impulse (stimulation) from the nerves.

Your spinal cord is injured. Injured tissue wriggles either on its own or due to external touch. This sends impulses down the line to the leg muscle causing it to twitch.

The drugs like Analgesics, anti-inflammatories etc stops the passage of the transmission of these impulses to give you relief.

As several of the respondents stated the spinal cord sends out nerves to the entire body. When it is injured, unless you are completely paralyzed the nerves are irritated and can become hyperinvenerated. This means that they fire even when you are not trying to move, thus the 'twitching.' It can get very annoying at times. Make sure that you let your MD know about this so that they can monitor the level of irritation. Sometimes a dose of steroids can be enough to bring swelling around the spinal cord down and stop the symptoms, at other times nothing can be done. Best of luck to you.

Although you've had an SCI, you still have spinal nerves and nerve pathways. These are just randoms reflexes, involuntary spasms and are common. My guess is that yours was an incomplete spinal lesion. If it had been complete, you would not be having these involuntary movements.
