Because he needs to be exposed. He owns the business he bought his own carbon offset credits from. His hypocricy knows no bounds apparently

i ask your self what his motives are, considering that he did not use the media interest he were given to launch a presidential bid. and considering that he for sure would not favor the money and has a "carbon footprint" higher than the Yeti (which makes his heartfelt care suspect) it should be some thing else. BTW Al Gore did not create the web. basically because he coined the time period "options superhighway" in the mid '90s (which no-one makes use of those days) does no longer provide him the credit which particularly belongs to ARPAnet pioneers including Vint Cerf, Jon Postel, Steve Crocker, bill Naylor, Bob Taylor, Larry Roberts, Bob Kahn and others. First off, he is loosing credibility because of this, he needs to practice what he is preaching. Now yes, one person is not going to make that huge of a difference, but if we all felt that way, it would make things a lot worse. But he is now threatening us by saying "If we don't stop global warming, we are all going to die because of it" Give me facts, not threats. Besides, wasn't it maybe 20years ago that some environmental group wanted to melt the polar ice caps to avoid a complete flood or something along that line?????
We live on a planet, and there is certain things that we cannot control not matter how much money we have, or how many followers we have, that will be able to alter the natural occurring events on this planet.
Yes I agree, we do need to all do a better job at conserving the natural resources, but telling everyone that we are going to die if we don't stop global warming is ridiculous. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT THIS IS THE SAME MORON THAT SAID "I INVENTED THE INTERNET"

Because he consumed nearly 20 times the usual amound of electricity in his home on ONE DAY than an average American is consuming in a year. And this is after he keeps plucking out this big global warming scandle. "Save energy" "Use less electricity" "Global warming really concerns me, it needs to stop". He is lying through his teeth.

I care that Gore has a huge carbon footprint because it exposes his hypocrisy. What effort is he personally willing to make to save the environment? Apparently, not much...yet he is willing to take the rest of us to task for our choices.
Also, in his book about the environment, he famously suggested that we need to "cull the human herd" a reference to zero population growth. Well, he has three children himself. Which of his blonde kids will be "culled"? Or do we only cull the brown people? OMG.
It isn't the message...it's the messenger.

Because a lot of people believe he is going to run for President and want to start chopping him down pre-emptively. Additionally, the "think tank" that brought this issue to the press is a single guy in a basement trying to get some fame. He is following the model of success put forth by many conservatives of finding some nit picky detail and trying to distort and expand and bend and incriminate.
